Planning permission for new gate

Friends of Crystal Palace Subway have had planning permission granted to reinstate a gate and handrails on the Southwark side of the subway.

Thanks to a very welcome donation of £12,000 secured by the Dulwich Society from the Southwark Council ‘Cleaner, Greener, Safer fund’ we now have £20,010 of capital funding towards the cost of this work and making safe the immediate area. We would like to offer a huge thank you to members of the Dulwich Society for their support.

We are just over £10,000 short of the amount needed to reinstate safe pedestrian access to the subway. We are desperate to do this on or before 23rd December 2015 - 150 years to the day that the subway was first opened to the public.
